Character: Ellen Kurokawa
Fandom: Suite Pretty Cure
History: Ellen's story starts... as a cat. A member of Minor Land, she started her life as Seiren, a cat with the ability to shapeshift. A loner by nature, she ended up being befriended by a fellow feline named Hummy. The two got together pretty well and learned they both had a thing for music. However, things got bad when Queen Aphrodite, ruler of Major Land, chose Hummy to sing a magical tune known as the Melody of Happiness. This made Seiren jealous and angry, allowing the evil Mephisto (no relation to that Marvel villain) to bring her to his side. Together, the two scattered the notes pertaining to the Melody of Happiness, sending them to Kanon Town. Their goal? Recover them and use them to sing the Melody of Sorrow, a tune that would drive everyone to despair.
Of course, that would be too easy without heroes, would it? Enter Hibiki and Kanade, Cures Melody and Rythym, who'd fight to save those magical notes and spare the world from that horrible noise. Seiren would deal with the girls, inducing a number of disguses (thanks to her shapeshifting powers) and a few false flag operations, including one involving the mysterious Masked Muse. During this, Hummy kept reaching out to her old friend. Mephisto caught this and brainwashed Seiren to stop that. However, it didn't stick -- at the brink of victory, Hummy's reassurances that they'd still be friends even after the Melody of Sorrow was sung drove Seiren into an emotional confusion, initiating one last shapeshift... into a Precure! Still emotionally confused, she rescued Hummy then ran.
Stuck in her Ellen form, she wandered lost and confused. Encountered by not only Hibiki, Kanade and Hummy, but also her former teammates Trio the Minor, she found herself teetering between good and evil once more. However, it was an encounter with a young boy that would finally make her understand that, though she can never take back the harmful things she did, she can always make up for them and that she's never alone. With that, she joined Hibiki and Kanade as Cure Beat. During this time, the two girls would help Ellen get settled in with life on Earth, thinking she could never go back to her old world. However, fate conspired to bring her back when the Fairy Tones pushed themselves to near death after they lost the notes they gathered. Together, the trio would retreive the Healing Box and the Cresendo Tone inside.
Soon after, the girls would find themselves fully confronting Mehpisto himself and the Masked Muse would fully reveal herself in the process: the Masked Muse was actually young Ako Shirabe, Queen Aphrodite's daughter and Cure Muse, and Mephisto himself was her father, the long missing king! Together, they were able to convince Ako to get them to help her and they rescued Mephisto. However, happy times came to a halt when a mysterious force took over Major Land and Queen Aphrodite, forcing the five to head back and save her.
Things got worse as the real threat reared its ugly head - Noise, the being who turned Mephisto against everyone and started the chain of events. Seeking to destroy all music, he turned everyone in both worlds to stone and pushed the teams to the breaking point, finally defeating him not by force but by acceptance. With Noise purified and the worlds safe once more, the four prepare for an easier life, but willing to take up their powers if needed.
Personality: Ellen is easily a socially-awkward person. At times, she comes off as a very strong-willed girl. She's willing to speak her mind, isn't one to back down and has something of a temper. This, especially when she was Seiren, made her almost hauty-like, almost giving her an air of superiority.
However, around other people and majorly different situations, she comes off as a very timid and confused person. A lot of this is due to the fact that she's still feeling the guilt of her actions under Mephisto and, as such, she wants to be friends with other people and hope they can accept who she is no matter what. This, of course, can lead her to do silly things and take cues the wrong way. For instance, her first trip to the beach started out a bit disasterously because she just kept agreeing with the girls with what they wanted to do and couldn't bring herself to actually say their names until told her to just relax and do what she wanted to do. As well, her feelings are still a little on the sensitive side, getting angry at people should they try to lightly tease her.
Ellen is also very inquizitive, showing great interest in various things, especially around Earth customs. She's shown a great interest in reading, especially on things to do in the outside world and she's willing to learn, shown by her desire to join Hibiki and Kanade in school. However, this desire to learn can go to incredible extremes. When she found out that she was going hiking, reading a book on hiking lead her to want to experience mountain climbing. As well, when Kanade was trying to teach her things about the first day of school, it lead her to write down everything said by her and Hummy, leading to a few humorous and not-so-humorous incidents, including writing her name big on the chalkboard, preparing a massive script to introduce herself with, then nearly revealing everything about herself to her classmates. Thankfully, they wrote that off as a bad case of sleep deprevention as she passed out soon after.
She's also shown to have quite a number of fears. She freaked out upon having a hermit crab crawl on her leg and she has an explicit fear of ghost and story-style monsters. Hummy has even mentioned her possibly having a fear of the dark as she mentions she can't go to the bathroom without having the light on. Probably her greatest fear, however, is the idea of being left alone. This was a big deterrent in joining Hibiki and Kanade as she wasn't sure they would just readily accept her, thinking the only reason they were was because she became a Precure. Even more, she wrestled with the idea of being a Precure, feeling that she didn't deserve it. However, when push comes to shove, Ellen won't take things lying down. In her early days prior to joining the team, she was willing to rescue Hummy from getting hurt, but it wasn't until Hummy forced her to confront her feelings that she realized that, yes, she wants to have friends and she'll fight to protect them. She has also shown plenty of intellegence to know that even the cruelest of tricks couldn't be pulled off by her friends, shown by playing along with the Trio's attempts to make her think that Hibiki and Kanade would go so far as to disguise themselves as monsters and hold signs that called her a failure only to turn around and throw them off-guard and give the girls a chance to transform (it's hard to tell, though, how long she believed it.)
Other: As mentioned earlier, Ellen is a Precure -- Cure Beat of the Suite Pretty Cure. Unlike Hibiki and Kanade, Ellen can transform by herself. Like them, she uses the Cure Module, a brooch-like device that also functions as a flute. The brooches utilizes one of eight fairy creatures known as Fairy Tones. Ellen uses Lary to transform into Beat. As a Precure, her strength, stamina and agility are increased multiple times, allowing her to leap long distances and toss around monsters many times her size.
Through the help of the the Fairy Tone Sory, Cure Beat summons the Love Guitar Rod. In Guitar Mode and using Lary, she can use Beat Barrier - a shield attack - and Beat Sonic - a hail of energy arrows. With Sory, Love Guitar Rod shifts into Soul Rod mode and allows her to use the purification attack Heartful Beat Rock.
As a note: As Ellen is part of the Suite team, the team that came after Heartcatch, all interactions between her and Tsubomi will be absolutely hand-waved when needed unless absolutely needed and with permission.
Also, I'll be introducing her ahead of her canonmates timeline wise (which is already decided on), so there'll be some sort of confusion.

First Person: [Oh, hey! Look! It's Ellen! And boy, does she look happy! Look at that bright smile on her face!]
Everyone, guess what? [And she's quick to hold up a school uniform - the same ones Hibiki and Kanade wear] I'm going to school! This is so exciting! I'll be able to go with Hibiki and Kanade and learn what they learn! Oh, I need to go to thank Otokitchi again for his help...! [She quickly stands up and runs off... before coming back, a look of realization and worry on her face.]
...I just realized something. I've... I've never been to school before. I've been so caught up in being able to go to school and meet new friends that... that I have no idea what to do or how to act! Oh, what do I do...? Oh! Maybe Hibiki and Kanade...! [No, wait, scratch that - she can't talk to the ones on the comm - they think she's still evil!] ...erm... h-how about you guys? Do you have any idea what I should do?
Third Person: Oh, this was really confusing for Ellen. No sooner did she finally accept who she was, what she could do and that Hibiki and Kanade were her friends that a new set of circumstances muddled the waters. All thanks to that screen with the ducks! The three of them weren't the only Precure around - there were teams of them, past and future! However, while Hibiki and Kanade were there, it wasn't her Hibiki and Kanade. They were from the past, when she was bad and did horrible things...
Ellen couldn't help but let out a sigh. "...I hurt all of those people. Did all of those horrible things and yet... everyone there didn't turn me away. But, the Hibiki and Kanade there were... well... confused. B-But, I know mine were understanding! That's what matters... right?" She looked up at the ceiling, contemplating everything. "...I wonder if mine knew I would meet them in the past. Is that why they aren't telling me much now?"
Looking back down, a thought crossed her mind. "But, if that's the case... m-maybe I can make things for the better! They're close... really close! Maybe I can stop all the confusion and worry I put them through!" A big, determined grin formed on Ellen's face, not realizing just how much trouble it would be to futz with time/space. Especially through the Duck.
